Lansdown Insurance Brokers will donate £6,000 to local charities that support children and young people this Christmas. One winning charity will be announced on each of the 12 days of Lansdown Giving which will begin in early December.
Our General Manager at Lansdown, Darren Bee said, “We were determined to do something this Christmas that will really make a difference in our local community. Many of our staff live locally and are acutely aware of the effect the Covid pandemic has had on the lives of many young people in Gloucestershire. We hope this money will help bring some festive respite directly to some of those who most need it.”
Staff at Lansdown came up with a shortlist of Gloucestershire charities that focus on helping children and young people in the area. Ideas put forward included charities catering for everything from providing support for babies and toddlers right through to sports for disadvantaged children and local homeless charities for young people.
Digital Marketing Manager Katie Oswald said, “It is great that we have this opportunity to bring good news to local charities when many are truly under pressure this year in the run up to Christmas. In 2019 we held the first Lansdown Giving Awards, and it is brilliant news that we have been able to adapt this year to the online Lansdown 12 days of Christmas Giving so we can keep supporting the local community.”
Due diligence checks have made on each of the final list of charities that will benefit from the Lansdown 12 days of Christmas Giving.
The twelve charities that will each receive £500 will be announced online on the Lansdown social media pages – Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter – on weekdays from the 7th December through to the 22nd December, with one charity receiving their donation each day.
